Last week the first load of Archives were sent off to be cleaned by Harwell Document Restoration Services (http://www.hdrs.co.uk/about.html)
The Brasenose Archives have suffered in recent years, from floods and damp which have occured in the Archive storage areas. Due to this, many of our volumes are infested with mould. This fantastic project has been made possible due to the generous support of Sir David Akers-Jones and will ensure that the archives are not only made more accessible for us in the present but will be maintained for future generations.
Of course, this extensive cleaning, reboxing and upgrading programme does mean there may be a delay in us responding to some enquiries throughout 2012.
