Artefacts in the Archives

Artefacts blog

The Brasenose College Archives do not only consist of written documents. The above picture shows a small selection of other items which we hold in the collection. As part of the ongoing cleaning project, we are now at the stage of re-boxing these artefacts. This presents a small challenge, as it means finding suitable boxes for many unusual shapes and sizes!

Artefacts include a replica of the Brazen Nose over the Lodge Gate, tankards, rackets found in the Library, a walking stick, hats and a fireman’s cloak amongst many other items. It will be fantastic for these to be boxed in their own specially made boxes, so they can hopefully be displayed and seen by many future generations in the College.
